Mission and Development

Developed in alignment with our mission to address the nano and microplastic crisis,
NewType has leveraged our scientific expertise and advanced tooling to create the
simplest and most affordable nano and microplastics test currently available. This test is
specifically designed to detect polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and PET-based
polyester nano and microplastics.

Unique Features

Unlike other tests on the market, our patent-pending method is able to break down all nano- and microscale particles of PET and PET-based polyesters within a sample. This approach allows for precise measurement of total volume, rather than relying on the estimates provided by competing tests.

Pricing and Kit Details

Each kit is priced at $250 and contains two individual tests. This makes it possible to test both the water source (such as a faucet) and the output after filtration, or to conduct testing at two separate locations. If additional tests are needed, please contact us directly for arrangements.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Question: How long will it take to process my sample?
Answer: Average processing time is 3-5 business days. 

Question: What notifications will I receive during the process? 
Answer: You will receive an order confirmation, followed by tracking information for the testing kit. Once you've mailed back the test, you will also receive tracking information for the return to the NewType lab. After 3-5 business days you will receive your testing results in a PDF report to the email address associated with your order.

Question: If this test only detects one type of plastic, why should would I use it to test water filters? 
Answer: All water filters today are mechanical, trapping particles within a certain size range. We can extrapolate how efficient and capable a water filter is across all plastics based on the performance against PET and PET based nano/microplastics. 

Question: I am a large organization and I am interested in a nano and microplastics test for a different type of plastic at a similar price point. Is NewType able to accommodate our requirement? 
Answer: Please contract NewType directly with the specific type of plastic and the estimated number of tests per year.
